NOBLE CHURCH OF CHRIST

“THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST SALUTE YOU”- Romans 16:16

Love the Lord Wholeheartedly

he past several weeks we have focused on being disciples of Jesus.  We have concentrated on Apostle Peter’s life as he grew in grace and knowledge of his Lord.  We noticed how he was highlighted as the spokesman for apostles in the first couple chapters of Acts.  We also learned of his powerful writings demonstrating his transition from a fisherman to a powerful preacher of the gospel.  I hope these lessons have given you hope that if we trust in God’s Word and obey it, we, too, will grow in our faith and His grace.

The next several weeks we are going to be studying about the kind of “love” we are have for God.  These lessons will be based on Mark 12.  We will establish the foundation by examining verses 1-12.  Then we will learn how to dispute those who try to distort the truth by observing how Jesus dealt with the religious sects of His day in verses 13-34.

Then we will conclude our series by showing how Jesus exposes hypocrisy of the self-righteous.  In the closing verses we see the hope that Jesus gives to the common person.  He truly loves and cares for everyone; we see this through His teachings.

Jesus truly is the greatest teacher of all times.  He could only teach truth, and He used the truth to expose error and misunderstanding.

This week we will see, once again, that God sent His only begotten Son to save us from our sins.   By learning from Jesus’ teachings, I hope that we, too, will reach the conclusion, “Well said, Teacher.  You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.”  (Mk 12:32). (NKJV)

As we assemble this Lord’s Day to worship Him and have that cherished fellowship with each other, may we take the example of Peter and be bold in our confession of Jesus and take the instructions of our Lord and love God with our whole heart.

In Christ,
                                                                                                                Steve
